Whats the difference between being engaged and dating?

Engaged means your completely screwed, at least with dating there is a chance you can still make it out alive. Engagement just means your one step closer to doing whatever she says and still getting no P*ssy

Not much really, dating is when you're looking for some one, or if you really like each other you may exclusively date them. The engagement starts when a proposal is given and accepted. You can look at this period as a couple of things: the time needed to prepare for the wedding or until a wedding is good timing, a period to let the thought that you're really getting married settle in, or a last chance before you actually get married to back out.

Just dating means you ask someone on a date you go out and you may or may not see that person ever again. When your engaged that means you and the person your engaged to have sat down and told each other that you love them and neither one of you date anyone else. You have plans to get married.

Dating - the act of going to social events or otherwise spending time with the opposite sex as a couple. Perimeters of commitment are defined by the couple.
Engaged - having advanced and been accepted or accepted a proposal of marriage. A committed relationship this is definitely headed toward marriage.

Dating is when you are going out with the person and getting to know them. Plus meeting their parents and having them meet yours.
Engaged is when there are plans for the two to get married.

engaged means you're planning to get married, date set and whatnot, and dating is just dating like being a couple with that person.

dating is dating. you see each other exclusively (or, in some cases, not) but being engaged is you've set a date to be married.

Dating = no ring, and no plans for weddings.

Dating is going out with someone - it means no further commitment than you like each other a like to be in each other's company.
Engagement is intent to marry, obstensibly a pre -commitment to spend the rest of your life with that one person only.
