I personally had a baby when i was 20 years old, and i dont think i was too young at all. But, i do see lots of young pregnant girls that are still in high school, and it is very sad, because i know that most of these babies that are born will not be properly cared for, simply because the mother is far to young to support it. I think that young girls get pregnant mostly accadentaly because of carelessness. The others who get pregnant on purpose probably have some issues. Maybe they have a boyfriend whom they woud like to keep forever, and having a baby will make them think that their men will stick around. Maybe they dont the respect from their families that they want, so if they have a babt, maybe they think they will officially be an adult....who knows the answer...there are many reasons why young girls cant keep their eyes open and their legs closed.

Most likely they are missing love somewhere in their life and think having a child will fill that void.
Alot of times they are just involved in the wrong groups or their parents are absent. It's the same as with drugs or alcohol. People do these things to fill voids in their life where they are missing other things.

Seeing that I am 17 and I want to have kids I can only say that it is something that "young girls" see as a thing that can makes them seem more adult like. It can also be a way for them to keep their bf.

they probably imagine a smiling, cooing angelic baby- little do they know that's hardly the reality and babies won't be babies forever.. plus staying up with them all night and listening to them constantly scream is no fun so girls who think like that require a reality check. you want cute attention? go buy a puppy! at least they sleep through the night

im a young girl. i would love to have a child at this age. but im not stupid enough to. i think there are soo many young mums because they feel some thing in there lives are missing and a child fills that hole

In many instances it is due to inbreeding and culture. They see older women in their families or neighborhoods getting more and ore welfare goodies as the result of having more and more children, and they want to get on the gravy train.
