I'm thinking about going to the University of Texas, about how much will that cost for me to get a Bachelors?

How much did your education/degree cost in all?

Obviously, I know I will need to first speak with an advisor and apply for financial aid and all that, but just thought I'd ask the general public first.

Approximately $20,000-$35,000. But, there's a lot of determining factors. If you live in or out of state, if you live on or off campus, if you can qualify for a scholarship, how much financial aid you receive, how many credits you take, if there's extra course fees for you major, how much you're spending on books for your major. And then if you decide to change majors, you may have to go to college for an extra semester to complete your major. A little bit of advice: I went to a university for 2 semesters and hated my major. I went to community college for a while to decide what to major in. I got all of my history, math, science, and art courses out of the way at community college and paid a third of the price that I would at the university. When I figured out my major and transferred my community college credits to the university, the university gave me a transfer scholarship!

I go to A&M right now and from what Ive heard from my UT friends, it costs about the same as UT, give or take a few hundred. This is my bill for the semester. Keep in mind that I am in state and I live off campus. I have no dining options .

Tuition: 2185.50 (15 credit hours)
Fees: 1263.71 (May vary depending on what UT offers)
Enhancement fees:66.00 (depends on your major/classes you take)

SO for this semester, my bill was 3515.21 for my classes. Keep in mind, you still need books (I spent about 300) and housing. On campus at A&M is roughly 2000 a semester. Spring semesters cost more because you must also purchase parking if you have a car and a sports pass if you want one. Thats just a semester though. Im a junior now....freshman year was pretty expensive, but if you learn as you go, the cost will taper off.

It depends what you want to do - most Arts courses are a total waste of time - in the UK there is a huge education industry and no graduate jobs when you finish.

I sometimes wish I had never bothered considering the amount of money it cost. You might be better off just getting a job if you can find something you like and just work your way up.

Maybe it is better in America - our Government is trying to strangle the economy at the moment.

The cost will depend on whether you are in state or from out of state. You can probably get specifics for what they charge per credit hour or per semester on their web site.
