These are just a couple of photos of him wearing them LONG before the Super Bowl game and the rain. As far as my experience, it's just a style statement. As to what the statement is saying, I don't know. When I saw him in concert in '98, he wore one for one of his musical sequences. I think he had 4 or 5 clothing changes. It was indoor, so I'm not sure the rain had much to do with it.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know I've seen it for a while, but he doesn't do it terribly often. I think it's just a mood he's in when he wears it. Hope this helps!

It was because of the rain. And his hair. Which pretty much looked like poop by the end of the show! But, that being said, he was AWESOME! His voice was so clear and he did such a great job in the pouring rain! What a trooper. He did better than Billy Joel did. And I am not hating BJ, I just think Price did a wonderful show.

The answer is pretty obvious. It was raining outside and he didn't want to mess up his hair.
Prince is no idiot, if he didn't mean to have the doo rag on, it would not have been on. With him being who he is, he could have easily just backed out and refused to perform in the rain. But he did it for the fans. Just like he eventually took the doo rag off and threw it into the crowd. I guess he figured it was useless since his hair was already wet.

I in basic terms observed that on my homestead web site. it is so ridiculous!! OMG. some people have such grimy minds. They throw a hissy extra healthful over each little thing. The guitar became into in the form of his image that he used to bypass via (lower back whilst he wasn't "Prince" yet "the artist earlier extensive-unfold as prince"). My mom swears he did it on purpose. I exceptionally doubt it nonetheless. i did no longer even word it whilst i became into watching the a million/2 time teach. people continually discover something to ***** approximately. : /

LOL I was kind of thinking Aunt Jamima myself. But I dig Prince, he's got some great songs. I doubt he left it on by accident. His handlers wouldn't have let him go out if he wasn't meant to be wearing it. If you haven't noticed, Prince is a bit eccentric.

I'm sure it was because of the rain. African Americans' hair can not withstand rain like Caucasians and others because of the texture etc.
