I bought a new computer a couple of days ago. My old one was very mest up beacuse of viruses. I dont want this to happen to this one as it has to get me through high school. Im willing to pay around 50-60 dollars a year. Do you have any suggestions?

Kaspersky anti virus is one of the top rated progras. It update hourly and works very well.

That's really a matter of opinion as to which vendor is best. You can try the various free versions or purchase a bigger name vendor.

You have to remember if you have antivirus installed and completely up to date you can still get infected with a virus/spyware. You need to also put in some type of firewall, spyware protection and keep your programs up to date with their patches. Not only microsoft patches but other applications as well.. these are all attack vectors.

Two free antivirus applications are
AVG and Avast both are good. Avast requires registration that will allow for updates for one year. After that you just have to re-register to get new key.

last year i bought Norton Antivirus 2006, and i noticed that my
computer was running much slower. i had to uninstall it and
i tried AVG Antivirus. it much better and it is a freeware
