I am supposed to go on vacation tomorrow night, and I feel that I am getting sick. You know, it is one of those feelings where your spine is too sensitive and you sneeze a lot, and your body just feels unhealthy, and you know that pretty soon you are about to get hit with fever. It is 0 degrees outside; so many people have that problem.

A guy I work with (he is from Poland) told me that I should take a full glass of vodka, put lots of black pepper in it, and lots of honey, and drink it right before I go to sleep. He says I’ll wake up healthy.

Do you have any suggestions?
What do you think of the “recipe” I was given?

P.S. It is going to be a skiing vacation, so I better be healthy!

I dont think much of that recipie, depending on the size glass you use, you could either wake up with a hangover or get alcohol poisoning if you drink straight alcohol
. If you are interested in alternative medicines, these work quite well.
There is a natural product that is made by Source Naturals, it is called Wellness formula. I have used this for the flu and colds and anyform of sickness, even for my allergies. It really really works. I have recommended it to several other people and they have had success with this product also. This may be a good product for you to try. Buy the Tablets and not the capsules. Mainly because you have to take twice as many of the capsules and as it is you have to take 3 tablets every 3 hours. I've found the best price to be at www.vitacost.com otherwise you can find them at your local health food store. I will never go without these. Be sure to buy the 180 count tablets because you will end up taking several and the small bottle is too small, you just end up having to go back to the store for more . Beware not to stop taking them too early. I take them a couple of days longer even when I feel good just to make sure that it doesnt relapse.

Lemon & Honey are natural boosters for the immune system, Cayenne Pepper tablets are also good.

Ensure to drink plenty of fluid, rest when you body calls for it and avoid any overtly acidic or dairy-based food items until you feel stronger.

Enjoy your vacation in the slopes!

If you are tested and have influenza A or B, within the first 24-48 hours you can get Tamiflu. It won't heal it, but it will make it less severe. A cold doesn't work as easily.

I don't think there is any quick answer, you may call your doctor tell him you are going on vacation and see what he suggests, the change in altitude could be pretty rough on you this time, good luck with your cold.

For a cold, nothing works better than Zicam.

For the flu, there is a prescription med that can knock it down, provided you get it in time. Call you doctor.
