I usually get heavy discharge the week before my period. Is this normal? It closely resembles a yeast infection..sometimes causes a yeast infection...how can I prepare for this in the future so that it doesn't get so bad...its so embarrasing and uncomfortable!!

Yes, it's normal, no worries ( the ph levels mimic yeast infections). I don't think there is much you can do about the amount (it varies month to month, year to year also). Talk to your doctor about it, there may be some new remedy out there to help you out.

Are you a diabetic? You may have a high blood sugar that contributes to this. Cut back in the sugar and carbohydrates.
Clean sex partners helps too. Do you make sure they use condoms?
Discharge is common for all women. The yeast infection isn't.

Go to the doctor...doesn't sound normal..you could have a mild yeast infection that doesn't every go away or get worse

Thats when you ovulate. Its this mucas discharge. Talk to your dr about it, he/she may be able to tell you things you can do to prevent it from turning into a yeast infection.

It's normal to have more discharge before your period. Just get some panty liners. I like the Always All Day liners. You just change them whenever you need to and they keep you feeling fresh all day. Plus, they keep your underwear from getting messy.

I would check with your gyno. I'm sure you're not the first woman that this has happened to, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about.
