I'm sorry you have no concept about riding a motorcycle if you had to ask that question... self-rightious people who are trying to inflict their desire to be paranoid about life and wearing helmets. It doesn't matter if you're on a bicycle or motorcycle if it's your time, it's your time, we as bikers have more faith and belief then the average person, as we say a prayer everytime we go out that we don't run into a road hog, Statistics say that 98% of all Motorcycle Accidents come from automobile drivers not paying attention and Not Seeing the Motorcycle they ran over.
I have been riding Motorcycles for over 40 years, the 3 accidents I have had have all been Automobiles running red lights or stop signs, the last was a 93 year old lady driving a caddy who not only ran the light, but did it in front of a police officer who then had to chase her red light and siren on for over 7 and a half miles before she pulled into her drive at home saying that she didnt hit a Motorcycle there fore she didnt need to stop for the police officer who followed her.and to top that off she had no insurance.
so shouldnt the question be when to take the drivers license of a person when they are unsafe to drive? or is it best to just then charge them with Vehicular Manslaughter? Helmet laws and Right to Ride Laws... Let Those Who Ride Decide, not an unformed person such as yourself.and by the way, I work as a Photo-Journalist in the Motorcycle Industry. So honsetly dont ask such a silly question before you research it yourself.

Im not sure but I can tell you that bike riders should not be allowed on the road, no vehicle should be allowed on the road that isn't powered by some sort of engine. Where I live there's an old highway, hwy 219, that cyclists love to ride but the problem is that on both sides of this highway there is a huge drop off and lots of blind corners. So when you get into one of these blind corners with a cyclist you have to move over to allow room for them but if a car is coming in the other direction you have three choices, hit the oncoming car(which a lot of the time is a semi because the highway is a shortcut for them), run off the side of the road down a 20 foot drop at 60mph, or hit the cyclist. Now Im not trying to start a war here but if Im in my car with my niece and nephews and this happens to me Im not going to hit the oncoming car, Im not going to run off the road into the 20 foot drop, Im going to run the cyclists over. Im not going to let my niece and nephews die because some jackass in spandex thinks its o.k. to be riding on a highway on a bicycle. Road should be for motorized vehicles only, no exceptions.

There is a huge difference between going 65 MPH on a motorcycle. And, average of 15 MPH on a bicycle.

And, majority of cyclists wear helmets and motorcycle drivers not wearing helmets.

So, it is comparing apples to oranges.

Most motorcycle deaths are the fault of auto drivers so its impossible to get an accurate answer for you. The number of people who die "from motorcycles" is very low.

Not as many deaths as there are from car wrecks. We all accept the risk inherent in whatever mode of transportation we choose, or we would never leave home.

Life it fatal. As long as I'm alive and able, I will ride.
For me, the risk is worth the reward.

I haven't died from either one.
They don't compare, they are not alike.
Heyhey95, I'm afraid I disagree with you this time.

We need to share the road.
