look in the manual it is for just such an occasion
The light as well as the others on your dash are known as "Idiot lights" for obvious reasons

A picture is worth a thousand words. Half circle = light. Wavy lines = radiation of light beams.
A question for you, have you ever read the owner's manual to the car you drive? It may be extremely illuminating....

Pull back on the switch arm that turns your lights on and that dash light should come on, do it again and it should go off. Take a look at your manual and read the section on controls, switches and functions.

It means you need to turn off your high beams. You're blinding me. Give the turn signal lever a pull until it clicks, or push it, I don't remember which, but one of those will turn off the brights.

That sounds like the symbol for your brights being on.
