I might as well get in my onion survey question, too.

Anyone here familiar with this type? They're like green onions, or more pungent, and you have to pick them in the spring before they get larger and go tough.

You like them?

No, they're not weeds. They're more like the wild version of the onion. People are too used to the more hybrid version. Most major seed catalogs carry seed bulbs for them.

We like onions, and they're just one more variety.

Yes. I have a large bed of Egyptian Onions. They keep creeping out of the bed, tho. They multiply like crazy. My neighbors got starts from me, and now they are overtaken with them as well.

The onion became more than just food after arriving in Egypt. The ancient Egyptians worshipped the onion, believing that its spherical shape and concentric rings symbolized eternity. Of all the vegetables that had their images created from precious metals by Egyptian artists, only the onion was made out of gold.

The walking onion? Those are weeds! I hate them they are such a pain to get rid of and they always walk into something you don't want them to be in.
