The quizzes are handed out by the professor and the student does the work right on the quiz, not on his or her own paper

Each instructor will indicate how they want quizzes responded to. In some cases, they will had out forms to fill out. In other cases, you'll be given small writing books (typically they are blue).

In you're not told, using regular paper is usually fine. For most classes, lined paper is required. Loose leaf (3 hold) paper is common, although a 8.5x11 pad is fine. White is preferred, but some don't mind yellow.

If you're looking at what to buy, I'd say to buy a bunch of white 8.5x11 (NOT Legal, which is 8.5x14) pads. It'll serve you well.

For you keeping your own work, folders.

probably a pocket folder- one side for assignments and quizzes, one for other stuff. that or three ring binder- with tabs and such to divide different types of papers.

Usually we put them in our back pack. I just shove mine in there and try to use it for toilet paper later.
