Well there are alot of things that this could be. It could be a csyst, a type of cancer , and yes it could be an STD despite the fact your husband may be gone. Herpes can take months even years to have your 1st outbreak ....
So you really just need to see the doctor ..
One source you could check out on the web is WEBMD it has alot of different symptom checks things that like might give you a lil more info.

Our body created the strangest things at times!

It could be an infected hair root. They really really hurt.
No worries, that doctor will fix you up at the end of the week.
Just keep the area clean and aired out, wear cotton. You put some oralgel on it if it really hurts. [yes, the gums stuff]

It may need to be lanced if it is a boil, so it will ooze, so bring a pad that day. They may end up shaving that area too. so be prepared.

Good luck-

I think you will have to see a doctor, but why not try hot water packs, if it is just a pimple it may come to ahead and pop, other wise see the doctor even if you have to go to the emergency room tell them you are in pain and why, a doctor will see you.

I get these things more like blisters. but they hurt everytime you touch them and they take like forever to go away. you must pop it. it will hurt but thats the way to get it away. you could also take like a glass coke bottle or bear bottle and boil water and put the water in the bottle. put it on the bump wile the hot water sucks the infection out. remember: im not sure this is what you have but ive had many of these same problems! hope your feeling better soon! :)

It could be a sebaceous cyst if so, it will probably have to be surgically removed and you will probably have to have anesthesia and stitches. Explain to your doctor's office just what you explained to us. They can probably fit you in on an emergency basis and get you scheduled for surgery more quickly if you explain the situation.

Sounds like you have a Bartholin cyst. Call your doctor, tell him/her you think it's infected. They should get you in faster.
