In the theater----Loud, Cold, people talking, can't rewind and hear what you missed while the people behind you were laughing, can't pause, bring extra money for soda and candy, miss some of the movie going to the restroom, sit straight up
At home--volume to the level of your liking, temp is at the level of your liking, have to go to the bathroom you can pause the movie, didn't understand what was said--replay all you want, you can drink soda (cheaper) or beer, candy and chips are cheaper, cleaner (hopefully) and last but not least you can sit anyway you like....lie on the floor, lay down on the couch, put your head in someones lap, watch the move naked it you want.
This is my comparison

Theaters have nice large screens but the ticket, popcorn and coke can cost you $15 to $20 per person. If you and your significant other go to the theater once a week that's $2,000 plus or minus annually. So rent DVD's and watch movies in the comfort of your own home. What you save will buy you a big screen TV for your home in less than a year. And you won't have to pay $4 to $5 for a coke.

You cannot stop the movie at the theatre for bathroom breaks, you should NOT talk during a movie at a theatre...it is expensive...however, some movies were just made to be seen on a bigger screen (like Titanic, etc.)....My husband and I would rather stay home and watch a DVD any day of the week!
