I had 3 wks- or possibly 2!!! IT was a long time ago for travelling after camp america and went from Minnesota to South Carolina, to Washington, to Philadelphia to New York, without any time to get bored and just enough time to do everything we wanted. The longest journey was minnesota to South Carolina which took around 20 hours I think- it was a long time. We bought our greyhound tkts by time rather than speicfic journeys which meant we could use them as often or as little as we wanted within the time frame. The buses are freezing so take towel/ big jumpers on board- I have a real hatred of air conditioning!! I have also been to LA, San Fransisco and Boston- Philadelphia, Boston and San Fran would prob be my faves- while Boston and Philly are feasable, I don't think you'd also get to SF without using a plane in the same 3 wks! Have fun!

Three weeks is a fairly long amount of time. I'd suggest you get away from the Northeast and explore the heart of the country. If you like cities, Chicago is a wonderful city that is very different from the coastal cities. It's great to explore the small towns of the Midwest and South, and the western mountains in Colorado, Utah, and Montana are spectacular.

If you have unlimited money I would start in new york city, then go down to washington d.c., then to st. louis missouri, then to colorado to see the rocky mountains, then to california. When your in California I would drive highway 1, which covers most of the californian coast. That covers alot of beautiful scenery, alot of different people, and many major points of american history. You can get directions from each place to the next place from www.mapquest.com
I hope this helps, and enjoy America!

I think you should definetly visit Washington, D.C. because that is the capital and has some really cool buildings or you could go to California (one of my favorite states) because San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego are some really fun cities. Anyway, I hope you have an awesome trip!

12 days is distinctly short, so i might recommend no longer likely to places that are very a ways aside, or you will spend all some time in transit from one place to the subsequent. in case you go with to be certain in basic terms vast cities and the optimal style of places, i might say to do London, Amsterdam, Paris and Cologne (Germany). That way you will get 4 countries in, nonetheless have time in each and each to surely see some issues, and characteristic in basic terms approximately 4 hours transit time between each and each quit. while you're no longer accustomed to Cologne, it somewhat is a huge city in western Germany, located on the Rhine river. it somewhat is a huge place from which to take a Rhine boat cruise for an afternoon or 2 and notice a number of Germany's castles. there is likewise a captivating cathedral (the Dom). in case you go with high quality over volume, i might say persist with 2 countries, optimal. In France you could desire to go with between Paris, Versailles, Chartres, and component of Normandy (Bayeux is a sturdy base there). In Belgium you could desire to be certain Brugge (additionally spelled Bruges), between the main captivating small cities in Europe, Gent, Brussels. in the Netherlands attempt Amsterdam, Delft, Maastricht. In England there is London for sure and likewise Dover (that would nicely be reached by employing ferry from France or Belgium - it somewhat is relaxing) and tub in basic terms for a start up. My checklist of "might desire to-see" places in Europe is particularly distinctive from this, yet 12 days is in simple terms no longer adequate time to commute long distances (somebody stated Greece??). you will spend all some time in trains or airports, finding out and in of motels, unpacking and repacking. that would desire to be a real pity.
