check out this site. It may help you to learn to crochet. a blanket or a scarf are the easiest things to make. once you get that down pat and learn the different stitches you will be good to go.

Firstly - can you crochet??!! If you can then - it's simple! One needle, two hands, lots of stitches, lots of rows = one blanket! If you can't crochet then get a How To Crochet book from your local library - and LEARN! S'easy!

You can buy patterns and instructions at WalMart in the craft book section.
They also sell books that teach you to crochet in the same section.

Its easy start with single crochet then flip it and start double adding one stich at each end (an extra one) and then just go on from there..
