I am 16 years old and so far ive had my periods for 3 weeks and they are still here! My mum had a similar problem when she was about 13 but she had her 4 6 months and had 2 get an operation and still suffers really heavy periods. i usually just have them for a week so this is really unusual. Also i got the contriceptive jag about 2 months ago could this have anything to do with it? I started my periods four years ago and this is the longest ive had them so is ther sumfing wrong with me ?

Don't worry hun, we're all different! My suggestion is nip to the docs, there are pills that can help with heavy and long bleeds and get them more regular and your doc will know what's best.

Having a period that long is definetly unusual and you should consult a doctor. It could have something to do with the new contraceptive and your body adjusting to it. However, a period that long means you are losing alot of blood and in danger of becoming anemic so you should go see your doctor.

hi having the injection does cause iregularity in your period but this will sort its self out , every one that takes the injection or that take the pill does have similar experiences dont think there is anything wrong with you but if you are really concerned you should make an appointment with your dr to put your mind at rest. bye for now hope this helps

My friend was 'on' for 6 months after she had the contraceptive jab. She's fine now.
If ever you are worried, always check it out with the doctor, even if there is notheing wrong with you it will put your mind at rest.

actually my good friend just had the same problem. what she did was she went on birth control, now i know that might sound bad but you use it to help you periods come on time and it helps it stay steady just for the time that it needs to. i hope everything works out!

it's probably too do with your contraception what you had 2 months ago.
if the bleeding doesnt clear up and stop bleeding soon its best to go to a doctor as you can turn anemic.
