They need a lot of things to happen, and it all starts at the top. The first thing is to get Al Davis out of there and re-align the ownership. The second thing is to get a new internal staff, most importantly a new scouting department. I spoke with Tom Shaw here in Orlando last year right before the draft (Shaw runs a camp for a bunch of the hopefull college draftees- to get them ready for the combine and to build on their speed and technique) and Shaw said that everyone in the scouting department is old school- like really old school and they all employ outdated scouting techniques and they are too stubborn to change. Look at the team's drafts the past few years. With the exception of Huff last year, every pick has been a reach and they go out and get some guy that everyone else had projected 50 spots lower. So after getting Al Davis out of there, the next step is to scout more effectively and then draft some real prospects. I really think they should trade the #1 pick this year and get some more value picks and work on rebuilding the offense. Kiffin was a great guy at USC and I would not be surprised to see him pull some of the talent from USC's program- trade down and take Dwayne Jarrett, then pick up the center Ryan Kalil in the latter rounds and maybe even work a deal to get rid of Moss and his salary and bring in some more draft picks. I grew up in the Bay Area and I am huge Raiders fan and Al Davis has done so much for the team and the organization and for the league, but sadly it is time for him to go an to take his outdated style with him. And I am a big fan of Moss, but I think he is a cancer and they should deal him now while he still has some value before he turns into another Terrell Owens tyoe guy...and while we are at it, can they just put Sapp on the waiver wire? The guy is a shadow of his former self and he is taking up more space with the salary cap then he is on the D-Line...

If I were the Raiders, I'd rather draft Brady Quinn. Quinn will transition from College to the Pros faster, and has more experience than JaMarcus Russell. Plus, he has a much more accurate arm. Next, they need to get Randy Moss happy again. Once Randy is happy, Brady and him will be unstoppable. Their defense is already pretty good, and will definitely improve with more experience. But knowing Al Davis, he's going to draft Russell, who's inexperience would slow down the development of the team. (And Russell is going to wish he stayed at LSU for his Senior year...)

Realistically? Draft Russell, trade the people who are ruining the chemistry of the team, and get a good offensive line. Draft a RB late. Desperately find someone in free agency to come to Oakland...because once one good one comes, people will follow.

Not realistically? Build a time machine and go back to the years of John Madden coaching this team, because it's going to be a while...

get rid of al davis. I have been a raider fan since 76 and he has made some great moves to bring good players to the team but lately he has absolutely killed them. He's too old and needs to retire.

Al Davis to own another team and leave the Raiders.

Al Davis to die. That simple, the man and his noxious, out-dated philosophy have turned the Raiders into a laughingstock of professional sports.

first a better owner. Many players and coaches don't want to go there because the owner (not sure of name) has told the head coach what to do and what not to do so he is like a head coach. A REAL BAD ONE. second a new coach which they already let go. third no selfish players like Randy Moss
