I'd say America is ready for a president who's a Human Being -- for a change.

There are still a lot of morons who would oppose a particular candidate for such irrelevant reasons as ancestry or sex, but I'm pretty sure they're the few, not the many.

But I'm not going to vote for Hillary just because she's a woman -- she's such a sell-out.

Obama I'm liking thus far.

In answer to both of your questions, America is ready for anyone who will stand up and do the right thing. If that person happens to not be a Caucasian male, then so be it.

When Jackie Robinson "broke the colour barrier" he was by far an outstanding baseball player, so much so, that his number 42 is no longer worn in Major League Baseball.

So if there is to be a president who breaks the gender and/or ethnic barrier may he/she be an outstanding president, not a token incompetent.

I think America is ready for both. We've come far enough in this country that I really dont think its as big of a deal now. And if we're not ready or people say we're not, then I feel sorry because they're basing that on very superficial things. Best qualified, no matter what!

Yes to both questions, although I'm not convinced that either Obama or Clinton is up to par.

1. YES
2. YES

As long as they are qualified, and will represent our country well. Race and gender should not matter. What should matter is experience, ideas, values and character.
