alright, im 39 1/2 weeks pregnant. i went to the doctors last tuse. my doctor told me i was 3 cms dialated the baby is ALL the way down. Wed. i lost some of my mucus plug (which am still loosing it) the baby has been moveing and kicking like normal. i can tell she has moved down because i have had to start wearing pantyliners because shes on my bladder that i would have to change my undys every 30 mins at least if i didnt. well today, i have noticed that my belly is a weird shape. it looks like shes mostly in the bottem half. i can still feel her kicking up close to my ribs. i was wondering if her being so far down like she is but still kicking my ribs means that she is all ready to go and just stretching out, or if it means that shes ready but shes so long that she really has no where to go. when she kicks, sometimes it feels like she just has no room, and i look down and i her feet pushing through my belly its like WOW!!!

well im not worryed about my doctor wanting to induce me so that she can be home in time for dinner, i accually have 5 different doctors... so its not like im being rushed, i mean i never had so far... but thank you for all the answers. i for some reason havent been contracting as much as i used to the past few weeks. i think that was another reason my doctor wanted to induce me. he did mention it when we started talking about the induceing thing...

Are you having contractions? If not, then you're not having your baby! Good grief.

My guess is she's getting ready and moving around alot. But you still have a few days, maybe even a few weeks. You can be dilated quite a bit for weeks even and not even know it. The mucus plug will likely come out if you've had an internal exam; it does regenerate itself. You might lose a little bit here or there, or lose a bunch at once (it's reeeeally gross!).

Other signs include bloody show, diarrhea (the body cleans itself out prior to labor, in many cases), cramping and contractions. Often babies will move less towards the end simply because they have run out of room. I noticed that with my daughter - she was really kicking and probably stretching out trying to get comfortable! :)

If you can, i would avoid an induction. Technically you still have two weeks before true concern sets in. Only post-mature babies stand a chance of aspirating meconium and you still have a way to go. Just by doing an internal exam it is no way to know for sure when you will go into labor. Sometimes doctors induce just to get it over with faster so they can be home for dinner. Honestly, I know that sounds bad, but I've seen this direct quote from a baby doctor and it's kind of sad, actually!

If your water breaks, get to the hospital soon. If the amniotic fluid is clear, you're fine - if it's greenish, then it means your baby has pooped (meconium) and then you should worry. Otherwise I would just let nature take its course!

Its all part of it. Your belly will change shape even up to delivery as the baby turns and moves and shifts and crowns.

You'll know when its time if your water breaks (mine did before labor started and I was in labor for 43 1/2 hours, so it just means you get to go to the hospital.. lol), or when you get real contractions.

Hang in there. Wont be long now.

you are NOT having your baby. you will know when that happens becuz you will contract. don't listen to that girl. pretty much its close for sure i mean once the baby is at 0 station and you are loosing the plug i'd say you have anytime from now until a week.

your belly looking different is just the way she is laying. thats normal. my belly looks different almost every other day! it just depends on how shes laying. im 32 weeks so i have a few more weeks to get to where you are. but, wait till you go to the drs and make sure you tell them what your feeling. maybe they'll send you right to the hospital if youve dialated more!! good luck with her!!
