I was taking Metformin 750 before, and my periods were regulated. However, my new insurance carrier only carries Metformin 850, but I feel that my periods are not as "normal" as before, for it takes longer for me to get my period (39 days instead of 30). Is this normal, or might it be due to the change of mg. in Metformin. I want to get pregnant soon, and dont want to risk missing my ovulation days because of the change.

This may be a good thing that your cycles are a bit longer--before your luteal phase may have been too short to sustain a pregnancy.
