Tinley Park is like most suburbs. It's designed for middle-aged middle class people who want a safe, pleasant place to live--which makes it dull for people who want a more interesting lifestyle.
You are, however, just a short drive or train ride from the city. There are things to do all day and all night in Chicago.

What dmd said. But not all burbs suck. I'm from Aurora and it's the bomb. It's a little Chicago. 30 mi. west of the city.
The only thing cool about Tinley Park is that Wu-Tang Clan did a show there.
