They should be the same size as your dress size but it's basically just a case of trying different ones on to see what fits. I know my size but every shop I go to differs in the style of jeans and size they sell. It obviously depends on which shop you go to. You didn't mention your age so I'm not sure what type of shops you'd go to or what style of jeans you'd go for but I'll just tell you from my experience. Avoid brands like Jane Norman as they are much too small and you have to buy like two sizes bigger than your actual size and then, even though they fit, they are extremely long and also uncomfortable to wear. For someone your size, I really recommend River Island, Next, Principles, Wallis or Kaliko. They are comfortable and you can also find really nice ones. They aren't that expensive either. x

Hi, a size 12 would roughly be a 28-30 waist but there are so many different 'fits' of jeans now that you can get a pair which will show off your curves but still feel very comfortable
Best thing to do is go to a really good jeans store like the levis store and have one of the qualified staff spend some time with you trying on different sizes and fits and you can see what suits you best. Once you find a fit that you like you'll never go back from jeans they are the comfiest!!!!

Jeans marked Size 12 would be a good place to start, but depending on the cut you might want to go up or down a size. I'm size 10UK with a small waist and find my bum fits well in Dorothy Perkins jeans. I never get a good fit in the waist as if jeans fit my waist by bum won't fit in them. Another good and cheapie fit is Tesco, who do own brand jeans for about £10. These are great for just wearing around the house.
If I buy jeans by waist size I buy a 28", these are way wider than my waist but again fit my bum, that really is the main thing with any jeans. Too tight and they flatten you bum, too loose and they look saggy.
Try on a few and use size 12 and 30" waist as your guidelines, just be prepared to go up or down a size with different brands.

I would suggest that you go to a large department store, if in UK somewhere like Debenhams or House of Fraiser, grab a selection of those you like, in a couple of sizes, 12 would be obvious place to start, and lots are sold as size 10/12/14 etc. The fit can vary vastly. I wear jeans that are either 12 or 14 depending on the style. Take an honest friend with you too!!!

A UK size 12 would be about a 28 inch waist, but if the jeans are low rise, then it would probably be about a 30 inch waist. HTH : )
