How do I rebuild an automatic transmission?

I can't get the clutches back in. The last plate will not go down far enough to get the snapring in.

there is a special tool for compressing the clutch pack so the snapring can be installed. this tool can be purchased where you bought the rebuild kit at. with a lot of care a vise could be used but is not a perfered method.
