No. The UN does not have "laws" per se. It has a charter which provides guidelines for behavior of member nations. However, the member nations don't necessarily have to carry out the decisions of the UN.

One example of a nation going against the UN is that the USA went against the recommendations of the UN when it unilaterally started the war in Iraq. Yet the US remains a member of the UN.

When a country signs a treaty (such as that which establishes the UN), that country is then legally bound to follow the terms of the treaty.

The UN does not establish "laws" in the sense that the state and federal legislatures do. Instead, it has adopted a number of minimal standards relating to relationships between nations and in other areas such as human rights.

Therefore, when the United States agreed that it would not attack another country except in self-defense, or as part of a wider, UN action against a rogue state, but it did, it did so in clear violation of international law.

Similarly, since the United States has agreed not to use torture on prisoners (as well as a number of other provisions of the Geneva Convention), it is in clear violation of international law when it does so.

The UN has no power within any nation. They are only 192 countries that have come together to talk & sanction nations that do not follow the guide lines of it's charter.
The United Nations are to try to find a peaceful way to solve problems that arise among nations.
Since no country takes any advice from this group, we continue to have war. They are essentially powerless.

I don't know about other countries. In the United States, all treaties signed with other countries, and entities (like the UN) carry the same force of law as the Constitution, because the Constitution says so. So, short answer, yes.

That's the theory, anyway. In pracitce, it's more like, since the US has most of the world's wealth and power we do what we want, anyway. The UN (as it is today) wouldn't even exist if the US didn't allow it, or fund it.

No, the United Nations can only adopt Resolutions, and it is up to the member countries to abide by them or not. For instance, the UN had a trade embargo on Iraq, prior to the US intervention. They also had an embargo on South Africa because of Apartheid.

even the nations that made the UN and making it's laws and rules ..... always find a legal way to make sure that there countries r out of the borders of the laws they made themeselves in the name of UN......these laws r just made to control the poor, small, suffering countries and make them poorer, and increase their community suffering......and on the other side we find the big heads (who makes the laws) enjoying making laws and controlling others saying to their people ((here we are working on ur protection..living in peace..and we will destroy any animal says he's human like u)).

Technically, yes. If you research enough, you will see just how far the UN has established itself inside of the American Politcal and social psyche. Precedent by associaiton is argued that if all nations are to be ruled and subject, then all nations are to be ruled and subject.

It is the Blue Print of World Government. And it will be heralded as the salvation of the world, and the next natural evolution in government.

County-City-State-National- World...

It is just that people like me, just aren't quite satisfied with trading in our National Sovereignty/Constitutional Guarantees of Personal Freedoms, over to unelected bureaucrats.

Without care for how many treaties were/are signed, or by who or what,or how many traitors there are to the sovereignty of the American People....We will remain armed, and constantly vigilant against those who impose Socialism and enslavement over the Good Ole US of A's ----God, Mom's apple pie and baseball.

It is bad enough that we have to deal with American Federal Bureaucracy, would you imagine if you wanted some answers from the incompetent and graff filled unelected legislators of the UN?

But I have only made this conclusion to your question by asking this question of precedence, If all other nations are to be subject to world governance, then by what right does the U.S. have to not participate in subjection to it?

So, I would think that technically, the intended purposes of the UN and its claim to be the Body Polotic of World Government, then by being in treaties with this unelected body of foreign socialist's national mishmash of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd world countries, that by definition of all things being fair and impartial, then the U.S. is subject to the UN's edicts and resolutions.

The sad thing is this, The American Government is the curiously fond of the New World Order. Global capitalism, corporate prosperity, international banking, trade performances....etc.

Personally, I wish to make it clear...

My belief is that The United States of America needs a total and unequivical withdrawal from the likes of the UN.

Only if they adopt the bylaws of the UN (basically they are members of the UN). I cannot think of a country that does not participate since even Switzerland does. However, until these countries entered the un, they did not have to abide by its bylaws.

The UN has no power, little influence, and no respect in the US.

The UN wanted the City of NY to find it office space so it could rehab its old building and the City of NY told it to find its own.

To much politic here, who pays for most of the UN's budget??? USA, and who houses them? USA and who built it, USA.......technically we are, but watch the politics.........not to mention that we should get out of the UN as they are a DO Nothing organization and always have been, and have always relied on the USA to do there bidding. Get out now, and let some other country host them!
