I have all my ipod files on my desktop computer. I am traveling and would like to be able to hook up my ipod to my laptop (I already know how to do that and open up iTunes) and be able to listen to any of the files on my ipod through my laptop speakers. When I connected my iPod to my laptop, it asked me if I wanted to copy the files I had PURCHASED from iTunes to the computer and I said yes, and it did so, BUT: how do I access the files on my iPod that did NOT come from iTunes (personal CDs I've loaded onto it, etc.) Thanks so much.

You want to play songs on the iPod and listen to them through the computer rather than dumping the files to the computer and listen to them from iTunes, correct? All you need is a line-in cord, which you can plug into the microphone port.

it is no longer a lot the computing gadget to shop songs and media-correct files, it is how a lot storage you've, picture card, visual reveal unit/flat reveal and the sound card and speaker structures you'll favor. Which ever you bypass for, you want to have a large HDD (hardchronic gadget). stay with 120 GB or higher. As for tech info: Mac's are more effective for pictures (alongside with CGI), action picture modifying and different Multimedia archives that has to cope with videos, Animations, etc. both are good for track, yet computing gadget's have a much better range of sound playing cards and Video picture playing cards to make your ideas up on from. visual reveal unit/Flat reflects are an identical for both. the base line: you want to make your ideas up what else you'd be using the computing gadget for the type of computing gadget you want.

You didn't need to transfer any songs to your laptop. It sounds like you already have i-tunes loaded on the laptop. Simply plug in your i-pod to the usb. Wait for your laptop to recognize the i-pod in i-tunes. Click on "your i-pod" in i-tunes (it defaults to your laptops i-tunes library). Select play and enjoy the music.
