My family and I are considering flying to Las Vegas this summer. What kind of things are there to do within a 2-300 mile radius of the city that are "family friendly"? Keep in mind a time frame of about 2 weeks. Thanks

Go to Circus Circus. There is an arcade, and circus there.

Also, go to the top of the Eiffel Tower. Take the roller coaster ride at New York New York.

Drive out to the Grand Canyon in Arizona.

Tons of shopping, tons of lights, tons of gambling, tons of rides. There is somethign that you can purchase called a Power Pass. You can select either ( I believe ) 1, 2, 3 or 5 day pass. With purchasing this pass you can go to an unlimited amount of places and attractions at the one price instead of paying for every attraction seperatly. Believe me the money will add up. Simply go to the search and type in Las Vegas Power Pass. Now believe me don't plan things because most of the time things don't go as planned. Things will catch your eye and just do them. You won't be bored to say the least. Have a great trip !

2 weeks is not enough time to go round Vegas properly, let alone a 300 mile radius.
go to the funfair on top of the stratosphere. take a helicopter ride... (we did a champagne lunch trip which lands inside the grand canyon. a little bit of an extravagance, but very memorable).
lake mead is great for water sports. there's lots of 'free' shows and stuff you shouldn't miss.. treasure island pirate battle. Bellagio fountains. the Mirage - white tigers are on display at the entrance, though you have to pay to go in the rest of the zoo (don't miss the dolphin show) the mirage volcano is quite spectacular

there are so many shows, but my personal recommendation - I am a Penn and Teller fan, and loved their show at Rios

honestly,. there is so much to do, after 2 weeks you will wonder where the time went.

First, rent a car. Next, book a hotel off the strip to get best deals and not deal with the casino until you want to.

Next... Get a map and find Hoover dam, West rim of The grand canyon, South Rim of the grand canyon. valley of Fire, Monument valley and after seeing the real southwest and the results of global warming, ask Al Gore to please explain global warming to you and laugh in his face because you now know the truth.
