You know who else has almost those exact measurements and height? Eva Longoria (sp?) from desperate housewives. That at 14 isn't fat, it's lucky.

She may be getting picked on about her figure at school. Jealousy is an ugly thing, and no one gives it more power than a teenage girl.

Help her find things that are age appropriate, but if the things for her age group don't fit properly, just help her find things that make her look fierce and classy.

I was toothpick thin til I had babies in my twenties, and I always wanted more curves. Now I would love to have my cute little "heroin chic" figure back!

When will we finally be able to convince our girls that not everyone has to be rail thin? or have a perfect "c" cup and a J Lo butt?

It really depresses me that questions like this are even on here. That is a perfect size if not a little small.

The other day I went shopping at J.C. Pennys. Between three different brands of clothing I bought a size 4, a size 5/6 and an 8. That happens to me all of the time. This particular dress is probably just built a little differently. I would guess that she usually wears a 2 and that is why it freaked her out.

Plus if she is thin but has a large chest that is going to happen to her. She might want to find a good tailor. A good tailor has made a huge difference in my life. Tell her not to worry about the size of the clothes but the way she feels.

Dear Lord....You girls need to realize that you don't have to be a size 0 to be beautiful. You'll be MUCH happier if you accept yourself for how you are and don't try to be like someone else. Size 3 is tiny. When I was that age, I wore a size 6. In high school, I was a size 8-9, and still very thin. Love yourself for who you are and don't spend so much time trying to fit into an impossible mold. I'm a size 12 now, and perfectly happy. I'm also 5'3". You can see from my pic that I'm not huge. Dress size is a number. As long as you feel good, numbers don't matter.

Size 6 isn't too big for anyone. I was a size 6 at 14 years old and also had a flat stomach like your friend. It wasn't until someone said my thighs were chunky that I started to question my size. It wasn't long before I became obsessed with losing weight and I developed an eating disorder. Fortunately, I am full recovered and now back to a healthy size 6-8. I wish I had never let myself be influenced like that and had just stayed as I was. People need to stop buying into this need to be a size 0, size 6 is a nice, healthy size for anyone, please believe me.

HTH : )

size doesn't matter. Its how your body is set up, if she has a flat stomach then most people would say she's fine, but she needs to have the self confidence to realize that even if she had a big stomach that is not the end of the world and doesn't make her any worse of a person. People get bigger, that's life, if shes freaking out at 14 with a flat stomach, then she will have a stroke at 30 when her body changes! Live your life happy!

She is a good weight for her height. Tell her to quit stressing about her size and weight. If she has large breasts, that will make her look a bit bigger. My daughter has the same problem, but she looks very nice in her clothes. Tell her to be happy with what the good Lord gave her.

Take her to her doctor and get here a checkup.

remind her that the image of "Beauty" portrayed on TV is very unhealthy and promotes eating disorders.

Also point out that any guy worth being with will be interested in someone who will be helathy as opposed to a toothpick who needs to actually eat something.

by the way u described her, she doesnt seem to b overweight at all. actually, she seems to b at a perfect weight for her height and age.

its strange tho that her dress size is 6,
for her height and weight, she should b a size 2 or 4, depending on bust size.

if she is very "developed" as u say, then the only reason for y her dress size is 6 must b because of her bust size.
