It depends on where you are.

In most of the western U.S., a long term project to reintroduce wolves into the ecosystems and areas historically know to be their habitat is under way, and any contact with wolves leading to their wounding or death should be reported to the Dept. of Game and Fish in the state where the incident occurred.
Other parts of the U.S. and Canada have different laws and regulations regarding wolf populations.

In most cases, if wildlife is accidentally killed, the decision of what to do with the carcass is decided by the area's Dept, of Game and Fish officers. Contacting them will not get you in trouble in the case of an accident, and may legally give you rights to salvage the carcass, or at least the pelt.

I am assuming the animal was killed, but if not, you do NOT want to try to keep a wolf from the wild, they are not dogs, and do not easily submit to domestication, remember they are one of N. America's most successful predators, and can be life threatening in any situation.

Assuming you don't piss off the wolf so much it devours you,

NO.

If you're thinking you're gonna kill a wolf with your snowmobile, I wouldn't bet on it.

If it is only hurt, NO. You'll need to hand it over for rehab.
If it is dead, and you want to keep the pelt, you have to check with your state's fish and game department for thier regulations.

no no no no no they are so cute but please, it's still a wild animal. Call Animal Control, or the shelter, or something to that effect soon, especially if the poor thing is hurt... they're so misunderstood.
