Each family member has his own bath towel, which changes weekly. They hang to air dry in between uses. I change bathroom hand towels (the medium sized ones people use to wipe hands on after washing hands) twice a week. I also use a towel that size when I wash my face in the morning and evening, and I change that daily. Kitchen tea towels are changed daily. I use paper towels in the kitchen for spills, to wipe down counters, etc. so they are mostly used for drying off hands.

I buy white towels (Costco sells inexpensive jumbo packs) that can be washed in hot water with bleach and dried on high without damage.

We have each family member stick to their own washcloth and towels - I change them every couple of days. Some say change them once a week, but that just seems too long. Bacteria can accumulate on washcloths, and towels just plain smell after a few days.

We don't use washcloths we use the plastic loofahs, I tend to change them when they start coming apart. Since they don't mold and they rinse out clean. On the towels every three days.

I don't reuse bath towels or wash clothes. Kitchen towels and dishrag every 2 times I use them.
Everyone has their own preference. I think it is easier to just put in the hamper and wash; I hate drying off with a damp towel.

Once a week is sufficient. Bacteria doesn't form for over 7 days so you are VERY safe. Just use some soap and bleach in the washer when you wash your towels.

I change my after every shower. We all have separate towels and face cloths. I only buy white towels and face cloths so that I can bleach them everytime. That way I know that the bacteria is gone!!
