my server can't find websites. It's behind a router and my other computers get the internet but not my server. it says it's connected but I can't ping my router even. I've assigned my server a static ip address by accessing my router from another computer. i've done this many times, assigning a static ip, and never had a problem. now i can't do anything. something is configured wrong and i can't figure out what it is.

before u do anything complicated try right clicking on the router icon on the bottom right of your computer screen and click "repair" if that does not work then try restarting. If that does not work then call your ISP and wait on hold....trust me, do not try to fix it yourself it can lead to just more problems.

Does your router have a limit to the number of devices it will support behind it? Some of the cheap routers will only allow a limited number, like 5.
