This bump is fairly common.

Do NOT use peroxide or alcohol or bactine. Peroxide and alcohol kill healing cells and make your risk for infection greater. Bactine is not intended for puncture wounds. Also do not use table salt.

Use a sea salt soak with hot water, hot compresses (clothes or cotton balls dipped in hot water, then sit them on your piercing to draw out fluids like lymph), and you can try tea tree oil. Do not use the oil directly, you MUST dilute it or it will make things worse.

Add a drop of the oil to your sea salt soak.

You can also try chamomile tea bags and use them as a soak. For some people this greatly helps the bump. However, you might just be prone to the bump- my body is, and refuses to get rid of them no matter what until the piercing is removed.

That bump is more than likely a keloid. They aren't a big deal, but you have to deal with it or it won't go away.

First of all, NEVER use peroxide, neosporin, alcohol, etc on your piercings. Ever. It is incredibly bad for it and will only make the healing process take longer. Instead, get some sea salt and soak your piercing in a mix of warm water and sea salt. You should do this about 2-3 times a week for a 10 minutes.

Secondly, ignore the idiot who told you to use q-tips. You should never do that because the cotton can get caught on the piercing and it'll just trap bacteria. Instead, use your (clean) hands. If you need to dry the piercing, use a clean down and pat it dry.

Thirdly, you may want to make sure to change your pillowcases more often. Depending on how you sleep, your nose may be touching your dirty pillowcase and this may be part of the reason it isn't healing.

Good luck!

Peroxide, peroxide, peroxide. Use a Q-tip and trickle it into the hole from the piercing. Keep it up until the bump goes away. You are probably getting an infection around the area where the site was pierced. I suggest peroxide because rubbing alcohol will burn.

Try washing it twice daily with Betadine. You can buy it at a drugstore. It's a yucky brown-red liquid that stains clothes, so be careful. Get it all over the piercing and down into it. It will kill germs and prevent infection.
