If this is for a story, then some readers are going to be put off by how close the planets are. (1) It is not possible for 9 planets - or even 3 - to orbit around each other in stable orbits. After a few 100 years, some of the planets either are going to collide, or escape the system. Stable orbits require a central sun, at least 2x bigger than all the planets put together. (2) When planets form around a sun, only 1 planet is formed at each distance. The next planet forms at a distance at least 1.5X further away. If one planets forms at a distance of 100 million km, the next is at least 150 million km away. (3) For such large planets, 2000 km is much much too close to each other. Even for a small planet such as Earth, the Roche limit is about 18,000 km. The tidal forces on the planets would rip them apart. ... Therefor, in order to have several large planets so close to each other, there must be some magic or alien super-technology involved.
