I have two PC's. One is on AT&T DSL. When I add the second PC to the router do I have to add the install software that came with the DSL start up kit to the second PC ?

as long as the 'drivers' for the second pc's network card have been setup on the second pc and they're working, you shouldn't need the software cd since windows itself can handle most connections without extra software.

probably what's on the at&t dsl install cd will be mainly for setting up the router to connect to the internet, rather than setting up anything on the pc.

all you need to do is connect the second machine to the router and you're good to go.

Assuming your router is pushing out DHCP (dynamic addressing), then no. Just plug it in. If you can hit the internet, you're fine. If not, open a command prompt and type "ipconfig /release", then "ipconfig /renew" and try again (or just restart your computer).

but, you should see if there is an ip in ipconfig. (start>run>ipconfig)

Also, the router is first setup to dhcp. I prefer http://pclinuxos.com on my curbside donations, for the 5500 free games, programs, suites, etc. and the great security.
