My cousin just informed me that if you throw a can of coca cola into your washload, it will easily lift and remove stains even dried blood stains? Is anyone familiar with this "cleansing formula?"

I have heard of it, but never tried it. It will take rust off of metal so I am sure it would remove stains!

Yes. Actually, if you leave a tooth in a glass of it, it can dissolve the tooth within three days. It's also an excellent way to get stain rings off of toilet surfaces. Coca-Cola tankers carrying the syrup form have to wear "hazardous materials" safety signs. The carbonated water they combine with it is pretty much harmless. So, yes. Coke is a very good solvent--as long as you watch it, because it will dissolve steel if given enough time. And never get it on your paint! It'll eat right through the clear coat. (This I know from showing experience.)

It can remove a stain but leave a stain also because of the syrup in it. Coca-Cola is great for getting bugs off your windshield though.

Mythbusters, the TV program, actually tried this to see if it was true. They spoaked a grease stained cloth in coke. It did nothing to the stain.

No they tested stuff like that on the show Mythbusters and the only thing Coke was good for was cleaning up chrome.

When my hubby worked in the oil rigs we would pour some in with his clothes when we washed them, it helped some but not much. Works more so on grease then stains.
