any number raised to the 0 power is 1.

It appears that everything inside the brackets is raised to the zero power -- and anything to the zero power is 1.

Anything to the zero power is one...I'll show you why

2^4=16
2^3=8
2^2=4
2^1=2
2^0=1

You can take it farther too

2^-1=1/2
2^-2=1/4

and so on!
