The common cold is very common yet it has no easy cure. But there are a few things that can ease the effect of common cold. Vitamin C is wonderful for the cure of common cold. It can make the symptoms less severe or can shorten the length of a cold from seven days to two or three days with less coughing, sneezing, and other symptoms. In fact, vitamin C works as a scavenger in our body throwing out all toxins. If you feel a cold coming on, you should start taking Vitamin C.
Zinc is another wonder thing for cold that can cut colds short. When you first feel that you may be getting a cold, start taking zinc, extra Vitamin C with rose hips, and garlic. The cold may not start. You may never get a cold, if you take these regularly.
Do not use medicated nasal drops without Doctor's advise as excessive use will cause chemical rhinitis.

There is a natural product that is made by Source Naturals, it is called Wellness formula. I have used this for the flu and colds and anyform of sickness, even for my allergies. It really really works. I still feel like I can function when Im sick. Even though I am sick, I know that I get well so much faster than without it. And it really works the best when you have them on hand to take promptly at first signs. I have recommended it to several other people and they have had success with this product also. This may be a good product for you to try. Buy the Tablets and not the capsules. Mainly because you have to take twice as many of the capsules and as it is you have to take 3 tablets every 3 hours. I've found the best price to be at www.vitacost.com otherwise you can find them at your local health food store. I will never go without these. Be sure to buy the 180 count tablets because you will end up taking several and the small bottle is too small, you just end up having to go back to the store for more . Beware not to stop taking them too early. I take them a couple of days longer even when I feel good just to make sure that it doesnt relapse.

Make sure not to stress yourself out or overwork yourself. Get plenty of sleep and this going to include taking naps throughout the day. Make sure you eat a healthy diet. Soups like chicken noodle are good for you. Drink plenty of fluids like water and juice. Taking cold medicines do help, but make sure you follow the directions. I suggest DimeTapp. If you have a lot of swelling in your throat than gargle warm salt water.
