I think it would be perfectly legal.

Yes, as I work with children I've had lots of background checks. In the UK I fill in a form and produce 2 official forms of ID (one photo) at my local police station, it's not very expensive. In the US I had my fingerprints taken at a local police station and sent them to the FBI with payment. Both countries send the report back within a month usually, applicants would submit them with their applications for you! Not sure about the employer and finances, ask for references and check them thoroughly. x

The practice is called "bonding" and can be done through legal agencies, usually for a fee. Ask at a police station or your local government office.

All you need to do is get them to sign a document giving you permission to do this.

Whether or not anyone will want to be a member of such a club is open to debate.

i think you would have to ask your members to submit to a background check. Might be invasion of privacy if you don't
