Do you have a house phone or do you live off your cell phone. The only reason I have a house phone is because the bank required it at one point.

For emergencies, when your high sppeed connection is down you still have a way of connecting. If you are in an emergency-and your cell is not charged, or you can't find it, I have one because of those things.Plus sometimes if it is a really long conversation,I use the land line so that my ear doesn't get hot, my hand doesn't get numb, and I still have my battery charged.

I have a house phone. My computer runs through the phone line, you know DSL. I also use my home phone for calling 1-800 #'s. Also for local calls, that way I don't use or waste minutes on my cell phone for calls I can make on my home phone with no extra charge.

House phones are a necessity, as are answering machines.
What if you cell is in an area that doesn't get a signal, or you are out of town, or out of the country?
You would miss important calls.

Definitely necessary where i live since we don't get a signal on our cell phones here. We only have cell phones for when we leave our small town. Yes, i am serious!

I only have a house phone.

I wouldn't mind having a cell for any emergencies that come up when I'm away from home...but not to just sit in public and chat on. That annoys the hell out of me.

I keep my house phone just in case something goes wrong with my cell (it gets lost, stolen, broken, etc.). Also, for people who use their phone line to connect to the internet I would assume it comes in handy.

no house phone, that's an extra $20-30 that i don't have, plus i don't like to drive without my cell cause I've been stuck in a ditch without one and it sucks to have to wake someone up at 5am to use their phone
