Here are the hits of the 1890's. Some if them are still around. Oh Promise Me is and Hearts and Flowers are still played at weddings. Almost everyone knows the tune (if not the lyrics) to Ta-Ra-Ra Boom De-Ay and A Hot Time is the Old Town Tonight.
Oh Promise Me, 1890
Ta-Ra-Ra Boom-De-Ay!, 1891
Hearts and Flowers, 1893
The Sidewalks of New York, 1894
The Band Played On,1895
A Hot Time In The Old Town, 1896
I guess the band really does play on.

Pretty much anything that you would find on a Indie hits in the 90's or Brit Rock album, but a fave of mine is Angry johnny by Poe - At least I think it was in the 90's - so many heavy nights since then....

Metallica: The Unforgiven
It absolutely craps over anything else from that decade.
