I was just wondering about this. I have been on the truck with my husband before and when this happens I am wondering if he does it when I am not there, and If he does why do men have to look and gawk anyway.

Yes, it DOES always happen.
Men will be men.

Male truckers are guilty of what you describe for three reasons:
1. Men have more testosterone than women. They have a biologic predisposition.
2. Some men have no manners. Noticing is one thing, drooling is another. Men do that commenting thing to be cool around other men.
3. The CB comments are largely anonymous. If the trucker had to walk up to your face, as opposed to commenting from a distance in a truck cab, it would happen much less often.

What did your husband say when you asked him about his behavior in your absence? Does he make comments about other women in your presence? Does he rubberneck every time an attractive woman walks within view. You probably know the answers to the above. Your instincts and observations are usually accurate!

Oh please. Like women don't look. If it were not for double standards, women would have no standards at all. You know what's funny? I'll tell you. If a man sleeps around, he's a dog. If a woman sleeps around, well, you'll never hear about it, because women don't sleep around. But you don't suppose those men are sleeping around alone, are they? I didn't think so. They're in the sack with a woman who doesn't sleep around. I would venture a guess, and it's just a guess, that for every man that's sneaking a peek at a woman, there's a woman who is sneaking a look back. The difference is the CB. Women use the cell phone. Buck Owens said it best. "I was lookin' back at you when you was lookin' back at me".

Well yeah, most truckers are still men. And when you've been driving for 8-10 hours you tend to get bored. And I think part of that is just to past the time and check out hot chicks.

Your question is as elementary as to the origin of the species. Men were made to mate with women and the hormones that come with maleness require us to seek out mates. Socialization has attempted to remove or reduce this male trait, but it is ever present. Some men control urges better that others, but all me look, any that say they don't are either lying or gay.

Yep and because its a man thing. Like women never gossip about men? a thing of beauty is a joy to behold as well as a joy to be shared.
