Only a judge can modify or extend an order of protection. You will have to go back to the court where the order was issued, and file a petition to modify the order with the clerk of court.

Good Luck to you and hubby.

I used to live in Illinois. Go to the court house , got to the states attorney and tell him you want it removed.

You may have to write a letter to the judge, Id write it when I went in to be prepared and get it granted as soon as possible.

What county are you in? and if you have children have them write the judge one too, Tell why you feel safe now, and that you want to reunite your family.

Keep in mind if you need one against him again it might be harder to get one.Just be sure.

Be careful how you approach it, So that he isn't arrested for breaking the order. Good Luck !!!!
