The Pens are one of the youngest most exciting teams in the league! We have arguably the best player in the league in Crosby! We have really good young players and prospects like Malkin, Whitney, Staal, Letang, Filewich. We also have veteran leadership that all playoff teams need with guys like Gonchar, and Recchi. Add in the man in the yellow pillows (Fluery) and we may not only get to the playoffs this year, we may upset a few teams as well! God hope we can keep this team here cause the Cups aren't too far down the road in my opinion!

I am from Michigan and kept the Center Ice Package this year just to watch the Pens. They - along with the Sabres, Lightning and Ducks - are the most entertaining teams to watch in the NHL. Win big or lose big every night. The effort, speed and team unity during the recent win streak was just amazing. The Montreal game won in the shootout was one of the best regular season NHL games I have ever seen.

They still hold a 2 game advantage over most of the Eastern conference so it shouldnt be a problem to hold onto the 8th spot for the playoffs and a higher seed (as high as 4 really) is deffinately within reach.

While Crosby, Malkin and Fleury get all the press I think that Gonchar is going to be the key to their success. If he continues his strong offensive and defensive play it will go a long way towards helping the Pens down the stretch and in the playoffs. Having a stud on defense is the anchor of any good team, and Gonchar can be that player when he feels like it.

It's awesome, a few low points earlier but we seem to have turned the corner and are playing real well. Fluery seems to be getting better as he goes, the same with the rest of the team. We are the second youngest team in the NHL so we can only get better. It makes all of the losing season in the past few years worth it since we now have at least 5 young really talented player (Crosby, Malkin, Staal, Whitney, Fluery) and a few veterans to show them the ropes. Really pleased with the year so far but we can't let up, we have to make the playoffs for this year to be a success.

Asking Pens fans what we think of our team isn't going to get you unbiased answers, but hey, it's your question.

That said, the Pens are the most exciting team to watch, in my opinion. When Crosby steps on the ice, you never know what incredibly move, pass, or goal you're going to see. Fleury is finally playing like the first round draft pick he is. Recchs is 39 and still playing like it's the glory days of the 90s -- whatever animosity was present between he and Crosby has disappeared.

We have the league leader in scoring and assists (Crosby) and the rookie points leader (Malkin) and a core of young guys not much older than the majority of the fan base -- Colby, Whitney, Ryan Malone, Noah Welch (when he's up here), Christensen, etc. -- and we love our Pens.

We're making leaps and bounds of improvement from last season, with the exception of our dismal shootout record. (It's amazing that Crosby is a whopping 2-13 in his career.) I can't wait to see this team in two, three years -- if they're this *promising* now, I might just die when they reach their potential.

Well as a fan I am getting tired of the bandwagon fans. It gets so annoying when people talk about being a "fan" of a team just because the team is good. I suffered through the last 4 years. I feel for those poor Flyers fans to a degree. Although I guess it's good to have bandwagon fans since everyone wants to cheer on the winner. Yeah I remember when Stevens was brought back. Thought oh man this sounds great. Guess if I had realized why they were able to get him, I wouldn't have been so happy. It just seemed like he was what they needed, and maybe he would have been.

Normally I would go into the big discussion about how much I love the Pens, but everybody here has pretty much said everything I would. They are the best team in the NHL winning or losing. They have the most heart and drive for the game than anyone I have ever seen. I had the privelege to meet over half of the team this season at different events, and each of them were as humble as can be... they love their fans... and their fans love them. 'Nuff said!!

im actually a leafs fan but they're the best young team in the league, exciting to watch and who doesn't love sid the kid? I think they will sneak into the playoffs this year and possibly even surprise a team or two in the early rounds.. can't see them going much farther than that this year however i can see them becoming a real powerhouse in the east in the next 3 or 4 years to come especially if MA fleury can live up to his hype..we know that crosby, malkin and staal are living up to theirs..

THE PENS ROCK!!!

Sid the Kid is amazing, and i dont think people should be calling him a whiner and a diver. i think those people r jealous of his skill. i mean hes going to win the hart and art ross trophy and hes only 19 years old!!!

Malkin is also amazing, and they have other great young players like Staal, Christensen, Malone, Whitney, Fleury etc...

I seriously think they will make the playoffs this year, considering they just had a 6 game winning streak!!!

GO PENS GO!!!

I think Pittsburgh is going to at least the middle part of the playoffs and who knows they could be like last years Edmonton Oilers( they have a good D, good shooters and a young and currently hot goalie).

They are a great team with a lot of potential. Being from Pittsburgh I hear a lot about the Pittsburgh part of their name leaving but I remain optimistic. The penguins make the playoffs and keep hockey in Pittsburgh.
