Ok, I regularly go to the Religion & Spirituality Q&A, and there are always Christians in there bitching about Atheists, saying that they have no right to be there since they are not religious and all they are doing is trying to make everyone question their faith. Shouldn't that same rule apply to homophobic Chrisitians in this category? You damn hypocritic fools! How can you sit in judgement of others while at the same time whine about how everyone is always crucifying the poor little Christians? You can't tell everyone else what they are doing is wrong and not expect to be told the same thing yourselves. It's just delusional. So why, why must you come in here and answer a perfectly legitimate question with this religous dogmatic drivel of "you're going to Hell" and "gay men are an abomination", etc. Why?

As a gay Christian, I find it so sad that so many hateful, hypocritical Christians have caused gay society to hate the church so much.

But at the same time, I hear friends (or people around me in gay society ) who can be hateful to other fellow gays, doing the same things to each other that they say the church has done to them, spewing their own "gay dogma" . ....

"wow, look at him - what a looser"
"did you see his haircut?"
"damn, look at the belly on that dude"
"I hear he sleeps around"
"oh my God ,.no he didn't wear that"
"he looks like a big ole bottom"
"did you see that bull-dyke?"
"he is so nelly" ........

...... sometimes I think we as gays point fingers at mainline Christians, saying they are hateful and spiteful, when we're no better ourselves, passing judgment on one another.

Next time you're out and about in gaydome, or hanging with your gay friends, take time to really listen to some of the stuff we talk about.

Maybe we need to work thru some of our own hypocracy as well.

Just something to think about.

First of all, many Christians will probably respond that they perceive a "duty" on their part to try and "save" everyone who isn't submitting blindly to their dogma and way of life. Secondly, it probably makes them feel superior to others in an attempt to compensate for the irrational limitations that their superstitions impose. Finally, every group has its fair share of jerks. The loudmouth, redneck Christians that would rather spend their time harrassing anyone different, rather than doing something that would seem much more pleasant( like celebrating their fictional "Lord")... these folks are quite simply ignorant and beneath the contempt of any intelligent human being.

I understand what you mean. yet I need you to please understand that not all of us are judegmental. So pleazse it would not be right for me to generalize about people and say something stupid like all theatre guys are Gay. See that is a wrong statement especially since I can make on a few examples not all. Secondly The bible says it is wrong to be gay but at the same time God says he loves everybody so I have nothing againist gay people I just do not agree with that life but it is not my choice or life so it does not concern me. Once please do not general on christians. I have to say being a christian is almost if not harder than being gay. People like you always make general comments which are not fair.

Because they believe they are right and everyone else is wrong. If you believe differently then you're going to hell. What a mentality. So glad I'm not one of them.

THANK YOU. Being a Christian who does not feel that being gay is a sin, I feel more more welcome in this section than I do in the religious section where I have been called more names than you can imagine.
