Lets look at this problem from two different perspective: Online vs. Onsite (store)

Green Apple Nano:

Online:
Advantage:
you can received this item cheaper but assume that it is only a 10-15% cheaper at most. This is of course if you are (cheaper) and a 10-15 dollars difference means that much to you.

Disadvantage:
The shipping rate these days aren't something that you and I would want to deal with. Especially if you are purchasing regular postage. This means that you will wait usually a week or more for the item that you want. The difference you save by buying online went only towards the shipping rate. Another downside is that returning the product if anything were to happen can be a big hassle. Returning Postage fee and so forth.

Buying on site (store):
Advantage: The no hassle part of if you don't like it can be return easily to the store where you bought it and receive your refund.

Disadvantage: You normally would pay retail for your item.

HINT: If you go to the online APPLE store, you will notice that there are options on how to purchase your discount. Don't say I said it (If you look and navigate through the site, you can change the purchase of your nano through an education discount. You don't have to be in school, just select it...normally the discount for students is up to 20%percent off and the fun part is you can received the same discount through an APPLE STORE.) Purchasing your green nano using the student discount can be big help because your discount doesn't limit you to just a nano, but warranty, laptops and so forth.....Free laser engraving, this is what i like about it.

I hope this helps you....because i used it alot when i need something from apple....it saved you money in the long run.

The prices have fallen greatly in the past year. Different stores have different prices and I'm not sure if it's according to area or not. Um, I know Walmart has them very cheap and I'm thinking Best Buy also. I don't know where you're located but the best thing would be to shop around and just see or call around too.

Personally I wouldn't buy another iPod. Noone I know including myself has had good luck with them but if you still want one, I would check out Wal-mart or Target if you want cheap prices. But if you want security of knowing that the warrenty will be there I would go through Apple.
