The Sierra Nevada mountain range has the highest peak in the contiguous united states....Mount Whitney (14,505 feet) in California, only higher mountains in the USA are in Alaska. Rockies cover the largest area, and are also the longest mountain chain i believe. The other major mountain range is the Appalachian mountains in the eastern USA

the rocky mountains in the usa are the highest check on wikipedia it has lots of information mount elbert is the highest peak and measures 14,440 feet hope this helps

Its either Mount Mckinley or Mount Everest one of those two. Geography had been one of my favorite subjects in school especially US geography. I am going to college now taking a math course, it is pretty easy to start but know will get harder. I am in this class called Math Concepts, I wish but don't think they have a geography class at this school least this semester but I hope they do, I love geography and weather :).
