Michael Crichton...he writes some really cool stuff that you just can't put down...i.e. Andromeda Strain, Congo, Jurassic Park, Lost World, Rising Sun, State of Fear, Thirteenth Warrior.

Surely you've heard of one or more of these. He is awesome.

Honestly I have too many to name. I truly enjoy reading and there are so many good books out there.

I love Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, it is definitely one book that I could read over and over again and each time pick up something new that I never noticed before.

I like mysteries for the most part, sometimes though I get too into those and they end up scaring me ::looks sheepish::. I also like authors like Nora Roberts, JK Rowling, and I am into classics as well.

So I suppose that it is really too hard for me to pick one when there are so many great authors out there!

My all-time favorite author would have to be J.K. Rowling! She wrote on of the best children's book series on a napkin in a coffee shop, and even though she didn't have alot of money, she didn't give up here dream. Now she's richer than the Queen of England!

Marcel Proust (a French author) - he's just amazing, his style is divine, he's got wonderful descriptions, and you can see through his works how sensitive, well educated, talented and intelligent he was. Another one is Kahlil Gibran (Lebanese-American author) whose every sentence is like a beautiful saying. If all people would read his works and follow what he preached, this world would be a much better place.

Erica Jong

Because she writes well and she's not afraid to tell it like it is. She doesn't care what society thinks of her. She's a strong woman and a brilliant author/poet in my humble opinion

Try Fear of Flying

Jane Austen, with J.K. Rowling pulling up in second. Although sometimes, when I'm in the mood, nothing beats Kurt Vonnegut.
