overthrown the government and re write the constitution to make it work for ALL people. ohh yea and i would ban organized religion.

religion is the basis for all the hatred in the world anyway. it seems that if you believe something different then your an outcast and hated. violence follows then war. so religion needs to go away. if you disagree then thats your problem these are my beliefs. and those giving me bad ratings justs proves my point. this governemt is failing all people by denying rights to individuals that are different. if it continues we will be just like all the dictatorships through history.

By this I presume you mean illegalize the acts of love -- not attempt to legally prevent a group of people from being born.

Well, let's see -- it was illegal within living memory. Did the statutes stop it? No.

I am a political animal though. If we actually became fascistic enough to follow that route, I would fight until I died. My great grandfather 11 or (I think) 12 times removed, Colonel Ebenezer Reynolds, fought in the Revolution for freedom. He died. I am no better than he was, and I say with the State of NH (where I DO NOT live) "Give me Liberty, or Give me Death." -- I think you'd be surprised how many people -- gay and straight, would take that tact. You are talking about an intrinsic alteration of basic rights that Americans have always had.

Of course, what you really mean is, "If America became sufficiently fundamentalist Muslim to do it, what would you do?" And that isn't a real question. It wont' happen. Furthermore, I know many people of Muslim faith and some who were brought up Muslim, and all of them are liberal on this issue. We spend time with several Muslim families and love them as they love us. Your bigotry is not unique, anymore than it would be in Christianity; but among American Muslims it is rarer than you think. You want that hatred and that EVIL -- and yes, the types of things you propose are moral and ethical evils -- but they aren't going to happen.

Which brings me to a very serious question. I've seen very few as persistent as you are, and those few I have seen over the years of my life -- have all ended up to be either gay or bi -- and self-hating, usually for religious reasons. Major national figures (think of Ted Haggard) prove the same thing. It is no different among Muslims. So, don't you think you would do better learning to care for yourself? Stop the hatred. Most of the religion you quote and most of the religion I could quote is mythic. In your heart, look deep, you KNOW this to be true, as much as you would prefer the religions to be right, you know that they are myth, deep inside. The seed is there, and you can't escape it. It will grow and one day you will be free. Why not today?

It would be better for you.

Regards,

Reyn

You say “what if”, did you not realise that it was only in the last few decades that homosexuality was legal. What do you think happened before this time? Gays were still gays, they just had to live a secret life. You can’t change sexuality no matter what you ban.

How can you 'ban' a gender preference? Do you mean to ask what we would do if those countries made it a crime to be involved in a homosexual relationship? I and many other freedom-loving people would fight it in the supreme court, expose it as unconstitutional and have the laws against homosexual practice thrown out.

I would protest you and YOUR kind as it is genetic, which I sadly enough can't say for your closed-minded thinking which is learned. Try growning as a human; I used to dislike gays too but I met a man and I love him like a member of my family and he turned my thinking around. I suggest you try to get to know somebody is gay, you might actually find a good friend who shares some of the same interests that you do.

That is just an impossibility, I can't even fathom an answer for something so silly. What is a person supposed to say to a question like that? Do you think I would move or become straight? Is that what you want to hear?

I'm 51. They did when I was growing up. People hid for fear of being caught, jailed, and having their names printed in the newspapers. The world of gay culture was extremely closeted, repressive, and guarded. This is not ancient history. There are those of us who lived through that that are still around. If you're interested further, I can recommend that you read the book, "Before Stonewall."

I be pissed that the US and Britian are trying (yet again) to dictate morality on the people. To each his/her own!
I live in a country where homosexuality is illegal. It doesn't seem to matter much. The gays just find other ways and places to cruise, party, chat, etc.

Continue being a lesbian, of course!

What would YOU do if heterosexuality was BANNED?

I suppose some people would go back into the closets like they did since the beginning of time. But most of us would FIGHT it and be ourselves. I would NOT move, be straight or be afraid.

Countries ban a lot of things, and yet people still do them. For example, I live in a dry county in the U.S....meaning it is illegal to buy alcohol. However, we have bootleggers for every ones alcohol needs.
