See if you can find "Don't be Afraid of the Dark". Its an old 1970's horror movie but its awsome! That movie really messed me up when I first watched it. I swear, I wouldn't sleep with the lights off for literally months. Its not a slasher movie but a good old horror movie with a great plot. This young couple inherits a large family home in the country. They move in, and all "heck" breaks loose! Its a monster movie with these really creepy little "demons" who live under the house in some sort of secret vault. Its really not stupid, though. When I first started watching it I thought it was going to be same lame-butt movie like "ghollies" or "gremlins" but I couldn't have been more wrong. Its a psychologically horrifing movie and I think you will love it. I don't know if many video stores have it but I have seen copies for sale on the net.

- The Blair Witch Project 1
- The Shining
- Dawn of the dead (The remake)
- The Grudge 1
- Wrong turn
- The Lake County Incident
The Lake County Incident is about a whole family who are being terrorized by aliens on Thanksgiving night. The whole movie is filmed with a handcamera just like in The Blair Witch Project. Actually, The Lake County Incident was made a few years before The Blair Witch Project. Don't watch this movie alone, it's very scary.

Since you love the Saw movies (like i do), you might have already seen Hostel and Se7en, but if not, those are definitely recommended. Mindhunters is another good one that fits somewhat into the Saw/Se7en genre. Other suggestions are Rob Zombie's "House of 1,000 Corpses andThe Devil's Rejects or the Final Destination movies, especially the first one. But if you want something less mainstream and don't mind reading subtitles, i'd suggest trying Asian horror movies because instead of relying on special FX and such like most of our scary movies these days, they make deep, creepy films that are disturbing and almost beautiful at the same time and kind of crawl under your skin and stay there. Recommendations are Ju-On (The Grudge), Ringu (The Ring), The Face, The Eye 1&2, A Tale of 2 sisters, Abnormal Beauty, Koma and Audition (known as one of the most disturbing movies ever)

"The Last House on the Left." It's old--from the sixties or seventies. It was very innovative in its time, and still is compared to many others today. It's scary because of the stark realism. Nothing supernatural happens. The fear you will encounter is from the evil that ordinary men do.

right 1st things 1st ... DO NOT watch any exocist films they are rubbish! i would recommend watching mothman prophecies ... its a very confusing film but watch it! while your watching it at the beginning it is not that scary but be patient it gets scary, not the scary that makes you jump but the scary where you start thinking stuff to yourself and become scared, its an amazing film. also watch the original texas chainsaw massacre its really scary compare to the newer one. Identity is a scary film aswell, id suggest going on play.com and putting in scary movies in the search box, you'd then have loads of scary films.
