I was in a relationship with a man from work, we were together in 2005, I ended the relationship in December of that year because I found out he was in relationships with two other women, and I knew both of them. I confronted him about it and of course he denied it. He had the nerve to tell me he wanted us to remain friends and of course I told him hell no. Afterwards he would continue to call my home and cell phones, e-mail me. I got a job working somewhere else, and he would try to find out where I am, but I didn't give any info. I changed my home and phone numbers as well as my e-mail address, but somehow he managed to get the numbers. I have gotten very rude with him and told him not to contact me anymore, I have written letters to say the same, and he is not getting it. I have not contacted him since the relationship ended, I have left him alone, but he still bothers me. He also bothers my former co-workers, asking them questions of where I work. What shall I do about this dummy?

You could try a restraining order. It sounds like he's harrassing you enough to qualify for that - it is definitely affecting your life. This gives him two incentives to stop: 1) it shows that you are quite serious about not wanting him to contact you or your friends, which he may not fully appreciate in spite of everything you've said to him (some people are kinda thick that way), and 2) there will be real consequences for him - fines and eventually jail - if he continues. Good luck.

Why not get a lawyer to write him a letter regarding a potential harassment law suit, restraining order and police involvement if he does not cease and desist trying to contact you.

If you cannot afford a lawyer, you could find a legal service on line that would help you with the legelese to write such a letter but it would probably be more effective coming from a lawyer.

Make sure to say the next contact will be reported to the police.

Good luck.

Restraining Order

The only answer I see lies in your question, "I have gotten very rude with him....I have written letters...." Point being, although you have performed many changes in apparent attempt to avoid this man, you are still communicating with him when he contacts you. Trust me, once he gets absolutely no reaction from you whatsoever (no telephone conversation, no letters, etc), he will lose interest in the activity. Its like the child who wants attention - good or bad doesn't matter, its just the attention (or reaction) they are seeking.

He is stalking you, that is criminal behaviour.
You need to go to the police and report this.
I would come armed with letters from co workers to substantiate my story.
He might be doing this to someone else. I might contact those other two women and get statements from them also.
