DOES A BEAR CRAP IN THE WOODS?

There are 3 ways to acquiring a new QB to replace Rex Grossman if the Bears opted to do this. The free agent class of QB's is not too great this year. The top QBs are Matt Schaub from Atlanta and perhaps Jeff Garcia from Philadelphia. It would also be possible to draft a rookie QB. Mel Kiper's top 5 QBs are Brady Quinn, Notre Dame, JaMarcus Russell, LSU, Drew Stanton, Michigan St., Trent Edwards, Stanford, and Matt Moore, Oregon St. Under this assumption I don't believe any of these QB's are better than Rex at this point. The third option is to try to trade for a QB. However trading for a good QB is going to cost the Bears at least a 1st round pick and other players. The final possibility is to start Brian Griese next year and ride him for as long as possible. He had a couple good years in Denver. Ultimately it looks like Rex should continue to grow and mature in Chicago.

OK you all want to get rid of him because he didn't win the Superbowl. Ask yourself this question.....What would the Bears have done this season if they had somebody else in as QB? You can't blame Grossman for the loss. He did the best he could giving the weather was really bad. Give the guy time to form into a good QB. Hes a young guy.....He needs some time and work to be able to win a Superbowl.

This is Grossman's first full season but Phillip Rivers had his first full season and he played much better. Grossman doesn't have the intangibles. He has a strong arm but his decison making is not up to speed.

I think they need to make him a back up. How many years did Pittsburgh waste before they finally realized Cordell Stewart was never going to win the big one? Same thing here Chicago can waste alot of years trying to turn Grossman into something he is not.

No, because this is is first full season. He is still a young QB that won 13 games for the Bears. A lot of QB's did not make the Superbowl. To get rid of him now makes no sense. He will get better as he gets more experience. See how he does in the off season and let him lose his job on the field.

yes I thought they should have gone to the back up after the AZ game. the bears went to the super bowl in spite of having rex at QB. Lovie should have a mental evaluation for sticking with him

no they should atleast keep him as a back up quarterback because he would be a good back up. they need an experienced quarterback to mentor rex because he hasnt had ne one mentor him before but i believe he has the potential to be a good QB. he needs a mentor because of all the stupid mistakes. i believe he has potential because the first 5 weeks NFL experts were saying he was the MVP

Not get rid of him but they need a better, more consistant starter. All I know is he needs more experience and he may benefit by being a back up and learning from a veteran.

no I dont think they should but they should definately go for a QB in the first round of this up coming draft. I say keep him until the QB they should draft in the first round is ready to play.

Yes, I'm sick of hearing people say "he's young, blah, blah, give him a chance, blah, blah, blah. I would be willing to give him a chnance if he deserved it, but the guy just flat out SUCKS as an NFL QB!
